I'm fairly sure this is old news. Everyone knows that what happened in the Gulf of Tonkin was played up to be more than it really was.

well the majority of people don't believe the gulf of tonkin was a faked, so i had to post this and gloat in fact that i was right all along
most people just think "lawdy lawdy the government would NEVER fake an attack to pull us into a war!111!1!" |

Dude, yes. All 5 sentences that pertained to the tonkin attack. I just wonder how a "review of the classified signals intelligence" proves something didn't happen. Especially when the enemy general confirms there was an attack on Aug 2nd.

I can't believe I'm about to type this... I agree with impala. We've pretty much known for a long time that we fired first at the Vietnamese. From what I've read in the article, there's not really much evidence that it was "faked."
