This is directed at no one in particular.

People want attention. People obviously aren't getting that attention elsewhere so they come on here and do shit for the sole fact that it will get people riled up or it will get a huge reaction and put that poster in the spotlight. The same way a three year old will throw a tantrum in a store and stop crying the minute his mom gives in and hands him the toy. It's not about the end result of winning the fight (or getting the toy) - it's about bringing attention to oneself so he/she can feel better about who they are.

Some of the drama on here is rooted in something nameable - a break up, a pregnancy, political views. That's fine. People are bound to have differences. Have your say, defend yourself, whatever. But most of it is unnecessary to bring here.

People who constantly are at odds with each other need to accept that and do something about it. If you always fight with a certain member, if you never agree with what a person says, if someone has the ability to piss you off just by virtue of acting how they always do, guess what - it's not going to change. And chances are, another thread will be created in the near future, and the same things will happen; the same feeling will surface; the same "attention whores" will be back to throwing those tantrums, and still nothing will be solved. People will bitch some more, and here we go again.

I'm not saying I'm above all of the crap that's going on. To say that would be naive, not to mention untrue. But at least I finally had the sense to do something about what bothers me - for one, I ignored those users who offended or disgusted me, because I realized that they had nothing of worth to contribute to my life. And secondly, I've made a serious effort to offer my two cents, not to tell people what to do and how to do it, but to offer a perspective that may lead to an agreeable solution. I really do appreciate these boards, and most of the people on here, and I've had the privilege to know many of the posters, as well as been blessed enough to have been helped by several of them. At the risk of sounding full of myself, I would say that very few, if any, members have issues with me. I've never been the subject of a topic (unless I started it) and threads have never been made about me for the simple purpose of starting more shit. I take a lot of pride in that and conduct myself in a way that is conducive to maintaining that standart.

In the end, it comes down to being the devil's advocate. Everyone on here knows what they're responsible for; those who bitch that they're being attacked cannot honestly claim they are not fueling that fire.

The beauty of a drama board is that anyone who doesn't want to participate doesn't have to look at it. Meanwhile, it keeps that crap out of the main boards. Some of it would be real drama, but probably most of it would be fake, like the "Fuck you" thread that was started not long ago.

As has been said numerous times, your best defense against Brandon is to ignore him. If you can't do that normally, use the damn ignore feature. We're doing our best to delete the drama as it comes up, but that's all the mods can do. Only Lance can take more serious action.

You should write a doctoral dissertation on this. It'd be easy, because all you'd have to do is write 10 pages of shit about shit that's so completley obvious to anyone and everyone you'd probably be heralded as a total genius by your academic peers in psychology who are thrilled that they've discovered obvious shit.
