Yeah, I'm sitting at the North part of San Marcos and it's dreary, and I'm getting sick.

speaking of zombies, i realized that the building i live in would only take a couple of hours of work with 4 guys to zombie proof. all i need is about 1,000 feet of rope. I already have everything else here.

its a residence hall, but only about 40 of the rooms are on the ground floor, so to secure those windows instead of boarding them up, i would tie a loop of rope around each door knob (the doors open INTO the room instead of out) so that if a zombie were to turn the knob and SOMEHOW pull, it wouldn't be able to pull it. the rope tension would work with the other door knobs and etc...
i have a staircase outside that I would take bedframes from the residence hall i manage and tie up the bed frames to the hand rails to fill the gaps, allowing me to have the outside balconies while retaining a cage for security but maintaining visibility. and the staircase works as a bottleneck as well and can be easily barricaded. there are two other doors that were worrisome, but i take more rope and tie those similarly to the room doors, and then barricade with the pool table and 6 vending machines, then tying them again around the mass. and escape plans galore, fire escape doors that can only be opened from the inside facing 6 totally different directions with nearby structures to try to reach in the event of an evacuation. i can't find the roof access yet, even though i have rings of master keys and floor plans. its supposed to be here, but no luck yet. |

that sounds pretty easily done. and if the residence doors are anything like the ones i had at tech, they ain't nothing to fuck around with... solid wood doors. your residence connected to the dining hall? food and running water is usually my main concern.
thats why sams club here in lubbock is my top choice. only 2 entrances into the place, the others are auto locked from the inside. it runs off of a different power grid than the rest of lubbock, some place in another town close by or something, and they have their own power generators for emergency back up. my house, fred's gun emporium, and sams club are all on the marsha sharp freeway,. and really, but it doesn't beat the fact that you can simply board up shit as soon as you get notice, whereas me and friends actually have to drive there, make a stop along the way, and then secure the premises. -------------------- |
