oh man... and I thought the Sony PRS 500 was good! (http://www.amazon.com/Sony-PRS500-Portable-Reader-System/dp/B000VI72YI/ref=pd_bbs_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1195496359&sr=8-2) Amazon blows that out of the water. Books, magazines, blogs, wikipedia, dictionary... but the free wireless cell phone technology is what excited me so much. I'm buying this as soon as I save enough. The only thing I wish it would include would be an online translator, or even google access or email. -------------------- ![]() |

It's an e-book reader with wireless and allows you to get papers and select blogs for reading later. Interesting concept but it's ugly and the fact that it's missing one of my favorite papers (Financial Times) is a big drawback. Meh. I don't think they'll be able to compete with Sony. I just don't think there's much of a market for this outside a certain niche.
Besides that, amazon.com from what I know just doesn't really have that much experience making electronics. I think they're better off selling e-books for the Sony Reader than they are trying to beat it. -------------------- Holy shit, pebkac, you're awesome! I'm thinking about buying one on Wednesday. That, or an Xbox 360 because I REALLY want to play Assassin's Creed
I don't have the time to read the article. But does it mention how much the books will cost? If they're remotely similar in price to paperback I'm not buying one. -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

Xbox 360 it is, then.
I read about one book a week so it would take like two or three years to make this thing pay for itself. Of course, I'll probably buy the Xbox, play it for two weeks then let it collect dust. Whatever. -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

The 360's managed to hold my attention longer than any other console.
Worth it. My Wii is pretty damn dusty, and will stay that way until Brawl comes out. -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.

Yeah, the 360 is an awesome console. Especially considering it was made by MS.

The big difference between the sony and the kindle is that for the kindle you have to pay for everything to be put on it. you cant provide your own reading material and load it on for free.
and none of the blogs or other free material online is provided on it for free either. If/when it gets hacked to allow you to load your own content for free I will be much much more interested. -------------------- ~Clatto Verata Nicto
