I called pretending to be a clueless Cal 2 student (yes, I'm going to hell, I know). One guy would charge $40/hr for that (sounded like he had rates that varied by subject) and one charged $30.

In any case, that means I can probably get away with charging 20 or 25. Hooray!

I charged $15 when I was an undergrad, $20 as a grad student. No, cost of living in Albuquerque is about the same as Lubbock, maybe a tad lower. The $40/hr guy was one who advertised being a PhD with 33+ years of exp. There's someone like that in Lubbock too, though I never called to find out what he charged.
