wrong.

you should be basing your argument on velociraptor attacks.

Jurassic Park told us how "useful" guns were against raptors!

Make a law to keep guns away from the wrong people instead of punishing normal everyday Americans for being responsible with firearms.

this would be a good start. but how do you determine what is "wrong people?" i'm sure this 14 year old kid was an average student before he showed up blasting away. if guns were more difficult to get then maybe there'd be less of this.
england seems to be doing pretty well with their no guns thing.

no, but you are referencing another country, but really it doesn't matter if they wear toilet seats on their dicks...that's them, this is us.

I guess we should switch to right-hand drive vehicles since england does it...

Apparently you don't read their papers. I was there for a day and read about high school kids (in seperate instances) violently killing nurses and family, etc.

One kid stabbed a nurse out side of a hospital 70 odd times

Another burned down a house for not getting to play xbox (believe that was england)

And another brutally stabbed a class mate

again... violence, yet guns weren't involved... how shocking

the instances seem to be far more consistent in the us.
besides it's much easier to kill more people from a distance with a gun. people have chances to escape burning buildings. stabbings kill one person. and i'd much rather defend myself against a knife than a bunch of flying bullets.

I don't think anyone ever claimed that a handgun ban or assault rifle ban would totally end crime forever.

But remember that things such as this make the news because they're unusual. You rarely ever hear "such and such brutally shot such and such in the heat of the moment" because that's just too mundane.

So to basically sum it up. Guns should be taken away from the MILLIONS of responsible law abiding citizens of america who can use them in a safe and protecting way because of the 1 person who could kill anyway being able to use a tool that could likewise be used to defend against his crazy ass?

Well since sharks kill a person each year, i say all swimming in the ocean be banned or all sharks killed based on the fact that they are great killers and swimming is just recreational anyway.

You go on about how guns aren't needed based on the low possibility of break ins etc. but then base your argument on guns being used in a VERY small percentage of violent crimes equaling that they should be taken away.

How about this, you give your guns away and convince bad guys to do the same. I'll keep mine safely in my closet and live a normal life just the same.

I think you're mixing my arguments up with someone else's. I was basing my argument on the fact that guns are used in a very high percentage of crimes and the presence of guns makes heat of the moment crimes easier to commit.

And for the love of God... I'm really getting tired of "Well, <insert totally inane object that no one would ever think of banning> can kill people, let's ban it!" I think that point has already been made numerous times in this thread. The point is that the object you're talking about banning doesn't kill as many people as guns do. For example, sharks kill very, very few people a year. You can't compare that to the thousands of people killed by guns each year.

(And for the record, I'm not for taking all guns away period. I'm in favor of an assault rifle and handgun ban.)

since it's not the gun, please find a way to tell all the crazies in the us another way to vent their anger and distribute it throughout. cause that seems to be their method of choice. you're obviously not gonna get rid of the crazies.
k thx.

lol so instead of dealing with the very small number of crazies you want to remove home safety from millions...

good call

Yeah, so why get rid of guns?

I vent my anger through boxing, heavy metal music, and booze. I don't go grab a gun when I'm having a bad day
