The primary reason Lubbock is not cool and never will be is because I have to drive 10 miles to get alcohol and 10 miles to get back missing a full quarter of a basketball game.

I love lubbock and would love to live there. The only probs with it are the lack of job opportunities and no professional sports. The small town/college town atmosphere is wonderful, as well as the weather. Not to mention a little better housing costs.

The small town/college town atmosphere is wonderful, as well as the weather. Not to mention a little better housing costs. The lack of job opportunities is understandable. It's a lot of agriculture out there. Blame slow development on the city council. They've turned down so much shit it's ridiculous. A lot of businesses want to take advantage of the college crowd but McDougal pretty much kicked the competitors out of town so he could build his Overton Palace. And because the city council was being glad handed by McDougal and his supporters, no one will initiate investigations into his business practices. -------------------- "Ah, y'know it's funny, these people they go to sleep, they think everything's fine, everything's good. I looked in to those, they're really nice. I'm thinking about moving to Cedar Pointe. Gonna check it out this afternoon when i go drop off a chair Where's Cedar Pointe? I went around a lot of the apartments that are closer to Lakeline Blvd. I liked the Lakeline Villas until a little birdie told me the place is a hellhole and they try to scam you. Plus, ghetto folk come over from the section 8 friendly apartments next door and vandalize everything. -------------------- "Ah, y'know it's funny, these people they go to sleep, they think everything's fine, everything's good. I want to go visit Houston again because it seemed pretty neat the time that I went there. Dallas fucking blows so much damn ass its not even funny, Fort Worth included in that. Austin is nice. I like it a lot, but I dont know if I could ever live there again. I want out of Texas. When I graduate and finish my summer internship, Im thinking of moving to Cali or Florida. I want out of Texas so badly

i think mcdougal was investigated a couple of times or at least once wasnt he? The whole McDougal family was following that rave death incident. That's when old whiny Marc pretty much blasted Lubbock saying he felt 'betrayed' by the citizens after all the money he'd poured into the city. Fuck him and his family. I met him a couple times. Grade-A sleaze ball politician. -------------------- |

i think i had a couple of classes with matt back in the day Probably. I was supposed to graduate in 2006, so I probably had a few classes with you when I was on schedule. On a real estate note, I saw an ad on a bus for Ulofts. They are condos that replaced the old apartments on University and Broadway. I looked up how much they cost: $90,000. Why would anyone buy a condo for $90,000 when you could probably purchase a bigger house for $70,000 or less? I don't know what they were thinking. |
