Yeah, this is the kind of shit that makes me mad. Some people do authorize other lawmakers to cast a vote for them in a certain way if they're unable to be present for various reasons. Understandably, lawmakers can't be present for every vote. I'm torn on this for that reason.
But ultimately I feel they should make the effort to be present and vote themselves. I DON'T approve of a lawmaker voting in place of fellow party members who aren't present without their permission and sticking their ballot in a party-line mambo. What if they were going to vote a different way? Blah, rambling. This post has been edited by Psykopath: Sep 28 2007, 06:36 PM -------------------- |

i hate the party system. i am in no way an expert on politics, i understand it's supposed to make sense and work. the problem i see is that when the system was originally created, the officials ACTUALLY CARED ABOUT THEIR JOB ENOUGH TO DO IT PROPERLY. i think it's been skewed out of proportion to the point it is almost as much of a joke as being a celebrity/actress.

Reason #1 why politics suck these days: You pretty much have to be rich to make it in politics. It's a mad-spending popularity contest. -------------------- |

that video is hilarious. those fucking scumbags.
funny thing is, if they do vote on the bill to criminalize multiple-voters, it'll never pass because all 9 reps in attendance will make sure of it. |

I'm finding it funny that these are the same people that push for more voters, mostly old, but more voters. They're at voter registration drives, have drivers (campaign workers that drive vans) that pick up elderly people from their nursing homes or hospitals to polls. Drives me crazy that they don't live up to our standards as well with regards to what really matters, policy.

Politics is a dirty game. They are never going to enforce the house rules that they are supposed to follow because of the status quo. Apparently, they deem that there is no disciplinary action necessary to "punish" said acts
-------------------- A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?
