I already know i will have to have a local hd antennae to get the local channels in hd you sure? i know my bud here has directv and he has two dishes, one for locals (including HD) and the other for the rest of it. i think they both do that. my vote would be directv also, i like how you can get several different brands of the boxes. and i had a pretty bad experience w/dish so that kinda sours them for me. |

if it ever rains don't get a dish. especially if there are severe storms. sucks to sit there wondering if a tornado is going to land on your roof with no tv signal. i switched back to digital cable. if you're still going with it though directv

satellite is touch and go when it rains
sometimes it's fine...other times it blows you'll probably be fine in abilene but if you were getting dish or directv in seattle you might rethink it -------------------- "Ah, y'know it's funny, these people they go to sleep, they think everything's fine, everything's good. They wake up the next day and they're on fire."

it turned me off to it when i had dish and only saw the first quarter of the 2005 ncaa championship. the other huge turnoff was waiting for the damn thing to aqcuire a signal all the time just when flipping through the guide.
