So you have no comment on the story?

seems like just another example of people breaking laws and not complying with police.

what should the officer have done?

and btw the title of the thread is a little misleading. the article says
QUOTE
Perry refused to give her name to the officer and, when Flygare tried to stop her from going back inside her house, she reportedly tripped and injured her nose.

Ok, 1) what a fucking dumb law; 2) why was an officer citing her in person? Usually that kind of crap gets sent in the mail.

This one is not justifiable. The officer should not have done what he did.

cmac, still can't accept that the kid in the other thread was in the wrong? Even after he admitted the cops did nothing wrong? Even after it looks like it was a stunt pulled by the guy?

nope.
the cops are under investigation.
i think that means something outside of the ordinary occurred.

Ok, 1) what a fucking dumb law;

my guess is the ordinance in question is yard upkeep, which is pretty much everywhere in the US.

again, just a guess, but I'd be willing to be the lady probably had a pile of citations already and she'd been ignoring them. just my guess.

what should the cops have done in this case?

you guys... you don't resist the cops. especially if you have weapons. why does it matter that the lady was in a wheelchair? do the knives not cut and/or kill if wielded from a wheelchair? they used non lethal force in every case we've discussed over the past couple days. what could the cops have done differently with this lady that didn't put them or someone else in danger??

anything that is so public involving the cops gets "investigated" nowadays.

i don't know. spraying her with a water hose would probably be better than killing her.

You do understand that if that lawyer's first point goes through it basically says that people in wheelchairs are lesser human beings and should be treated differently.

yeah. i think extra care should be taken with people in wheelchairs.
at least they didn't throw her to the ground before they killed her though.
that makes it better.
look we could apparently argue this forever
you guys don't think humans should be treated like humans and i do. that's all. smile.gif
