i like my mp3 player even though i don't know the brand of it... it plays music, it fits in my pocket and it makes me happy.

yes, i was also going to call horse-shit, but i'm glad you did. ipods came out long after the mp3 player was widely available.



and some people are hilariously awful cliches (most don't even know it), so an ipod is very fitting.

I just bought a 1gb flash cart for my new gameboy micro. it's gonna be my new mp3 player/video player/NES/GBA/Genesis/SNES emulator.

and it's smaller than my ipod.


i'd have to say it's gonna be pretty fucking tight.


and ipods do what they're supposed to do, and they do it easily. nuff said. They may not be the best, they may not be for everyone, but they sure as hell sell a lot, which definately says something about the product, whether you like it or not.

Ipods are definitely nice, but they seem to be kind of expensive for being nothing more than a portable music player. Think back to the walkman, a good brand walkman with good quality sound back in the day was like $50-60. Then we had CD players, good portable CD players were like $100-120 tops. A good Ipod is what like $250+? Just seems like a lot for something with not a lot of use. I know they have the cheaper, smaller one, but it doesn't have a display. Just my $0.02 anyways. If anyone is looking for a small, $100 or so music player, I bought my sister and bro-in-law each a creative zen for christmas and was really impressed.

i forgot to mention Creative. They have been on the market a while too....just as long as ipods.

Early generation iPods tended to fuck up a ton. The batteries were lucky to last a year.

Youre wrong on the mp3 market. irivers, rios, and creatives have been on the market for jsut as long and they had considerable storage sizes.

Will hardly used his mp3 player. He left it in a special case, never dropped it, and treated it exactly as it should have been treated. The software on it froze and he couldnt turn it on or off. So maybe you shouldnt incenuate.

Lastly, I think Mr. Lament has you beat on this one. You frequently post about ipods but seem to have little to no knowledge of other mp3 players. Hell, you really dont even know much about ipods. A great example of this was your completely wrong idea of how lithium ion batteries work that you posted on the old boards.

If a person is treating their ipod correctly, there is still a pretty good possibility that something could go wrong with it. Have you not heard all the complaints with the new Nano's. The two ipods that I have had experience with both went out from the same problem which was not due to physical abuse, but rather product malfunction. Rarely do I hear of someone having an ipod as long as you have and not having problems. You are lucky.

I have ~3 year old Rio 256mb mp3 player. It doesn't work perfectly after all the time, I wouldn't buy another of their products. It works well enough, but bleh.
