no

wouldn't want to.

I use a cell phone as a phone, you know...it's original purpose and stuff.

We're a dying breed.

I actually found my dad's old Zach Morris type phone and tried to get ATT to turn it on for me. They refused, the bastards.

Yeah, I hate that. I actually still try to memorize my close friends' numbers, but it makes it much more difficult when that isnt a necessity anymore. It does come in handy when I need to borrow someone else's phone, but other than that there really isn't a purpose to memorize anymore. We are becoming too dependent on technology.

I generally hate things that make Americans even more lazy and complacent than they already are. My pet peeve is cellular phones

You don't need a cell phone with nine thousand different gadgets. Trust me, you really don't. I don't have a fucking clue what "Bluetooth" is. Guess what, it's never adversely affected me in my life. I've never had a use for a GPS system on my phone either. MP3 player? Sorry, I already got an Ipod. Camera....no use for that, I have a 5 megapixel Canon. I don't need some shitty .2 MP "camera" on my phone that takes pictures that look like grainy surveillance footage pics. And you don't need goddamn video games on your phone. I mean seriously, are you too busy and self important to sit down and play your Xbox 360?

And don't get me started on text messaging. I can understand it in ONE circumstance - if you're at a Lamb Of God concert or something and you can't hear shit. I mean, you're holding a fucking cell phone; isn't that what a cell phone is used for? To communicate with people? There's this one girl, and I'm not gonna mention her name cause she might post on here.....I'll call her, she won't answer, and two minutes later I get a text saying "You called?" Jesus christ.

honestly the single nicest thing that i didn't have on my old non-PDA phone that comes in handy is the calendar/contacts organization and sync w/my PC at work and at home. i can enter a new calendar item into outlook on my PC and it auto syncs to the phone, which will then auto-sync to my home PC. same with the contacts. I can enter them via outlook and they will sync to the phone and home PC. i didn't used to use a calendar much but mine is filled to the brim with stuff now. it helps me out a lot because i'm a very forgetful person.

the camera, music player, etc, are nice but i honestly don't use em that much. i've only recently started using the GPS stuff, and it has been very handy so far. we were taking a trailer out into some country roads yesterday and even these little po-dunk dirt roads were on the GPS and it helped out a ton.

i just want the giddy people who bought it and jumped on the apple bandwagon to admit that they just like it for the coolness/trendy factor and quit tryin to act like it's some revolutionary new product just because the animations are pretty. it's starting to get like that south park toyota prius episode.

I don't remember calling it revolutionary, I remember calling it easier, I didn't buy it because it was hip and trendy I bought it because its useful for me, and the reason I have it out is because I'm fucking using it to browse the internet or send a text message or make a phone call, you know, the things you would do with any internet browser/phone/music player.

For me it is an easy device to use, I tried using a blackberry for a while as well as a PDA style smartphone but they were all harder for me to use than the iPhone. The BlackBerry and PDA had more features but they were basically worthless for me because I spent so much time navigating to where I wanted to be, with the iPhone it is basically point and click so I spend less time trying to figure out how to get where I want to go and more time doing what it is I wanted to do in the first place.

I think you wouldn't be so skeptical of us iPhone users if you could wrap your mind around the fact that the iPhone is three separate devices rolled into one, not one device with a bunch of different features.

It is a good phone, it would rival most any other phone on the market
It is a good mobile internet tablet, you can take it anywhere and use the internet
It is a good media player, it plays music and videos with a large screen just like any other media player

Any one of these things could stand on their own, for example, if you just used the phone and nothing else you would say "Hey this is a nice phone!" if you used only the internet and nothing else you would say "Hey I really like how easy this is and that I can use it anywhere" and if you only used the ipod you would say "My movies are bright and my songs are clear and crisp" But instead of having a phone and an internet tablet and an ipod crammed into your pocket, you have one device that does all three things and does them well.

(oh and the iPhone's calendar syncs with outlook just in case you were wondering)

I do admit I hate it when people text when they could just CALL...it's quicker and easier to just call and get it all out in one time.

The texting comes in handy occassionally....like while I am at work. I unfortunately have to share an office with my boss (unlike anyone else in my department), and so texting is a bit better than being on the phone talking sometimes.

I have to agree with him on these....my Blackjack couldn't get a signal in several places that the iPhone can. (malls, basements, etc)

I can get onto websites that before I wanted to access when I was away from home, but couldn't. Now I can go on ANY website, whereas my Blackjack was a bit limited in that regard...I was paying 20 bucks a month for unlimited internet that wasn't being used to the full extent.

And my Blackjack has Windows Media, but I didnt like the layout. I found it convoluted and annoying, so I barely used it as that.

In high school I had the hands free phone kit for that phone installed in my car. Bulky ass shit. I thought I was the shit, cause I could smell the odor.

i'm not skeptical of iphone users. and yeah i can "wrap my mind around the fact" (LOL) that it's three separate devices all in one, because that's exactly what the phone i've had for over a year does. (except way more than 3 devices)

so where does the difference between it and the iphone lie? the apple trendy/cool factor.
