according the USGS, there's 332,500,000 cubic miles of water total on our planet. 0.3% of which is useable by humans. this equates to 997,500 cubic miles of fresh water. which equates to: I dont know what my stance in this arguement is, but this post in and of itself just stinks of ownage.
1,098,364,347,150,000,000 gallons. according to the chart above, texas uses roughly 10 billion gallons of water a day. so the number above is sufficient to support 10,983,643.4715 days of texas' water use. roughly 300,000 years of usage. given a nice round figure of 8 billion people on the planet and 23 million texans, that's roughly 347 texas' worth of people. so through this admittedly crude method, we have 864.55 years worth of water. the interesting part is, this whole calculation is from one standing amount of water, and assuming it never replenishes itself. which it most certainly does and science tells us it's been happening for billions of years. beside that fact that 864 years from now we'll probably be creating water from empty space or some crazy shit. and with that i'm headed home. i think i'll dump the old cup of water in my truck on the ground |
