Yeah, we random everything so that it makes our people who rarely raid have a small chance. We have a lot of people (Australians or kids) that rarely get to raid and we feel they should have a chance at stuff, so that's there.

we dont really reset our DKP (we call them muffins) so if you raid more you get more shit, obviously. But even if you come in and don't raid that often you'll normally get stuff by default just because the guy who raids more has that stuff or better.

I've never had a problem getting loot, and i'm usually in the negative for muffins.

HOWEVER, i am a part of a relativley new raiding group, so 90% of us started at zero.

Yeah, the regulars get all of their gear but still, I mean, what do you say to the person in his second or third raid who finally feels he has enough DKP to contend with someone when he has to compete up against someone wearing three pieces of tier 2 four pieces of tier 1 and the fifth piece of tier one drops. Oh, sorry, this guy has been here much longer, has chances to get something much better, but will get this instead of you because he has more DKP. Not savy, in my opinion. Let them roll for it, instead.

we have 3 raiding groups in our guild, and most everyone in their respective groups are around the same number of muffins, so it just works out for us i suppose.

Ahhh, see, we don't. We have the numbers, we just don't. We're casual raiders.

It sure does. But I think we're changing to a Zero Sum System to make it easier for the hardcores.

DKP was a cool idea but I think honor systems are still applicable. Assigning numerical values to phat lewts in itself is rough ! But again, nobody is ever completely happy with a loots system.

Back in the day Brent and I would spend 2 hours working out , talking about nothing but Everquest. Deadlifts while discussing the intricacies of efficient and intelligent mana useage for long exp grinding !

I think Jessica's opinions are being taken too seriously. You people are forgetting that her Ex played WoW religiously, along with his roommates, and made that his conversation focus always. Tag that along with her other feelings towards that relationship and you are getting orcs and trolls who take the brunt of the blows.

I always told people, and still believe : If me playing a video game with my time is so bad, understand that the reason I'm playing that game is cause its fun to me. Not my fault you aren't as entertaining.

Then people say that you should be doing "more productive" things. Like what ? Reading bullshit books ? Good call, lets perpetuate the college mindset of reading "deep" ideas, then regurgitating them !

I think the only reason to be mad at somebody for spending all their time on wow (or any other game or addiction) is if it is honestly hurting their life.

examples :

- Dad doesn't go to work and pay the bills, cause his high end guild requires raiding 4 nights a week, for 8 hours each time !
- Your best friend is failing all their classes, AND they don't buy you lunch on sunday afternoons anymore. Why ? Cause that's when all the good mobs are respawning damnit !

As lame as I think WoW is as a game (itself, not all mmorpgs), this kind of thing is the best when you can play with your RL friends, pay 15/month for SHITLOADS of entertainment (hello poor college kids !), and you are....ready ?....having fun ! omfg !@

playing with real life friends is an added perk, its actually what drew me to the game in the first place

and i assumed about Austin and his constant WoW references/Robbie playing the game nonstop/Charles' habit of bringing WoW back up after conversation had moved elsewhere, etc would probably have something to do with it but i wasn't going to assume anything out loud =o

Rocky hates orcs and trolls, that's all I read from this. What do you have against green mean?

On another note, well said.

you are in the sweet spot. As far as loots go you are best off leaving the guild when you get to the point where y'all are focusing on bigger mobs that the veterans are going to get all the good stuff.

Unfortuneately the time comes eventually where everybody is at the max allowable DKP, holding out of the best of the best gear, and then the system just goes back to people rolling or somethin with the top people.

I do dislike how MMORPGs hurt my step-bro's life. He skipped classes, missed tests and shit because he was more concerned with DAoC or Shadowbane or whatever than he was with school.

I think it's lame that he let games take over his life so much and kept him fucking up at school for 2 years.
