apple's stock has fallen over 6% since they announced the price cut... and this is when you watch to buy more apple stock. they announce this, people sell off apple, others buy. people realize its not so bad and apple goes up again. -------------------- |

well they pissed off people pretty bad. and i doubt the people who wouldn't spend $600 for an iphone will go out in force buying them up at $400. not sayin the stock won't go back up but nobody's going to get rich buying up tons of apple stock just because of this.

If you know anything about me, you know that I hate Apple; however, that being said, I think its stupid that people are bitching about the price reduction. Cell phone prices are notorious for dropping faster than other consumer electronics such as game systems. Additionally, Apple is offering a $100 store credit.... something that those who already purchased the phone weren't expecting. That's pretty sweet! Ok, so you had to pay essentially an extra $100... big deal, you were one of the first people to have it! In the words of a good friend of mine: "Cry me a river, build a bridge, and get over it."

apple's stock has fallen over 6% since they announced the price cut... You know, I used to be an iPhone hater, I thought it was a piece of crap. Then I bought one (after the price cut) and realized that it is the nicest fucking phone I've ever used. I am an iPhone convert, its built well, everything is laid out well, everything just fucking works. I think it was worth the $300 I paid. QUOTE 1. Songs as Ringtones 2. Games 3. Any flash support 4. Instant Messaging 5. Picture messages (MMS) 6. Video recording 7. Voice recognition or voice dialing 8. Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Streaming (A2DP) 9. One-size-fits-all headset jack (May have to buy an adapter for certain headphones) 10. 3G (EV-DO/HSDPA) 11. GPS 12. A real keyboard 13. Removable battery 14. Expandable Storage 15. Direct iTunes Music Store Access (Over Wi-Fi or EDGE) 1: fixed 2: oh no, not diner dash! I guess instead I'll watch a movie or tv show 3: no phones can do flash 4: www.beejive.com 5: in order to send an MMS on the iPhone (and this works for regular email too) put (phone number)@mms.att.com in the email address, not only that, but you technically just sent an MMS to someone without using one of your messages. 6: huh 7: worthless on every phone ive ever had...non issue 8: ok this it doesn't have yet 9: my old samsung had a proprietary jack for headphones too, the adapter was $30, I don't see how the iPhone stands out for having a slightly awkward yet still usable headphone jack. 10: my old phone had 3G and a regular screen and keypad set up, I'll take EDGE and the big touchscreen over 3G anyday 11: wtf, about 2% of phones have GPS 12: the touch keyboard is actually really simple to use 13: meh, I'll take the build quality over the ability to remove the battery 14: 4gb is enough for me 15: fixed -------------------- FUCK YOU

2: oh no, not diner dash! I guess instead I'll watch a movie or tv show come on now it shouldn't take much for them to provide some tx hold em game or somethin. saying "oh i'll just watch a movie instead" doesn't justify not being able to play/download games. 3: no phones can do flash I beg to differ. Every windows mobile 5.0+ phone can run flash. it can be downloaded here 4: www.beejive.com is this the only one? and it's an alpha. and didn't exist when lance made his post. 5: in order to send an MMS on the iPhone (and this works for regular email too) put (phone number)@mms.att.com in the email address, not only that, but you technically just sent an MMS to someone without using one of your messages. so you attach pictures and video and such to these? it's not MMS unless you can do that, otherwise it's just plain old SMS. the whole point of MMS is to send pics & videos and such. 6: huh v i d e o r e c o r d i n g. as in, the recording of a video with a camera 7: worthless on every phone ive ever had...non issue worthless?? I don't think I can recall the last time I was in my truck and even looked at my phone to answer or make a call. Voice dialing may be worthless to you, but it's extremely useful to a lot of people. That alone would be a dealbreaker for me getting an iphone. 9: my old samsung had a proprietary jack for headphones too, the adapter was $30, I don't see how the iPhone stands out for having a slightly awkward yet still usable headphone jack. apple's iphone headphone jack is recessed, and makes it so just about any headphone adapter in existence not made by apple will not work. 10: my old phone had 3G and a regular screen and keypad set up, I'll take EDGE and the big touchscreen over 3G anyday EVDO is the fastest cell data connection available hands down. edge is slow as hell in comparison. every iphone user out there who has used them both will agree (and just say "oh i'll find a wifi spot instead" 11: wtf, about 2% of phones have GPS but pretty much any phone out there with bluetooth and palmOS or WM5+ has the ability to use GPS. currently the iphone can't. 12: the touch keyboard is actually really simple to use it does work pretty well 13: meh, I'll take the build quality over the ability to remove the battery i'm not sure i understand what "build quality" means. or why apple would have to sacrifice build quality to make their damn battery non proprietary and removable. 14: 4gb is enough for me same thing here... what would they have sacrificed by having a SD card slot? i think they just didn't put one in because they couldn't come up with a propietary apple memory card in time. again i'm not puttin down the iphone by any means. but that list lance provided really are legitimate gripes from a lot of people. it's dumb for someone with an iphone to come up and just dismiss the things their phone doesn't do as useless. also apple has the tendency to want everything to be proprietary and not want anyone to make a dime off their products but them. there's nothing wrong with that, but in the technology world people like to be able to customize their stuff and have a large selection of accessories and capabilities. |

How do I do this? I have Bluetooth and Palm OS i think there's a lot of them out there, but here's the garmin one: https://buy.garmin.com/gmbg/start.faces (just pick US/North America/Palm OS). basically you just buy a bluetooth GPS reciever (small piece like the one I showed in the nerdery GPS post) and some software. |

10: my old phone had 3G and a regular screen and keypad set up, I'll take EDGE and the big touchscreen over 3G anyday I'm going to have to agree with Impala here: ![]() 3G has about twice better transmission rate then EDGE. Also the nickname for EDGE is 2.5G, just fyi. On a side note, can't wait until 4G becomes popularized in the states: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4G#Developments QUOTE Sprint plans to launch 4G services in trial markets by the end of 2007 with plans to deploy a network that reaches as many as 100 million people in 2008....

On a side note, can't wait until 4G becomes popularized in the states: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4G#Developments well thats great in theory but I found that using a regular phone with 3G wasn't as nice as using the iPhone with EDGE, I'm sure that an iPhone with 3G would be completely awesome but as of right now the tradeoff between 3G and a large easy to use screen favors the iPhone IMO. I haven't noticed that much of a slowdown though, maybe its because I'm in houston and EDGE supposedly is faster in large cities...who knows -------------------- FUCK YOU
