while the score was close, keep in mind that cal was up 34 - 14 until like the final 4 minutes of the 4th quarter or some shit when col st scored a TD, got the onside kick, and then scored another TD.

I agree seeing them move up seems a bit much....but I wanted to add more info in case other people just read the scoreboard.

but that score was 14-14 going into halftime i believe, so it wasnt like cal blew em out till the second half

other close games of the week include:
hawaii (which could have lost in OT but the other team screwed up the 2 pt conversion)
a&m - which we all know about
Wisc/UNLV - UNLV was leading the whole most of the time, but wisc could have easily fallen
boise lost...all that matters
auburn/usf - most stressful game if you were going for a USF....i never seen so many tunrovers that went for absolutely nothing in the end because USF could not kick a field goal
neb/wake - nebraska could have easily fallen but they survived

I agree completely on all those other games. I was either watching the game or watching a web gamecast of em.

And I also agree that cal wasn't blowing them away at half - but that really is the status quo of top teams. It is pretty much common for top teams to get into half with a close game, and then make adjustments and show why they are a top team.

Think about USC - how often do they go into a close half. Look at UT this past weekend, they looked like fuckshit until the half, they came out in the 2nd half and showed why they are number seven.


I think a team that struggles till the half does have a bad mark on them, but if you can adjust and slaughter afterwards.....that speaks much more.

i was bored with the first round this weekend though, but at least it picked up towards the end

and yeah, i agree with the whole making adjustments thing at half, but either way, cal should have done a lot better than they did. I couldnt watch it, i didnt have CSTV (if that is what it was on) so i cant really say how close it really was, i was just keeping track of the score

And USC should have fallen to 3rd...end of story. I hate how they take a bye week so they cna have the last game of the season.....and still return and be in first place after OU and LSU showed themselves this weekend. USC can be a great team, but they havent proved anything yet. Every year it is the same shit...

Overall, I think as a whole, teams are more equal this year across the board....the only 3 teams that seem like they can stand out were the ones mentioned above...I think any team below these three can or will lose games to teams they shouldnt....just no team seems that strong in the top 25 minus those 3. Just my thoughts after this week

I think UT is going to fall a few times this year. OU will probably decimate them.

I can't believe A&M is ranked so high after barely pulling out a win in 3 overtimes...
