I'm curious, if I'm a Tech alum, and I wanna go back for a second bachelor's degree, if technically I can't qualify myself as a Texas resident anymore, could I get in-state tuition because I'm an alum?

I've never had any family in texas.
But it doesn't matter I'm gonna apply to grad school for PE too. That would probably be worth more in the long run than another bachelors. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

i didnt think grad school was very necessary for ME grads. from what i hear (from some ME grads who are doing very well) an MBA or degree in business + ME is the only thing thatd really give a leg up
but that doesnt have much to do with this thread -------------------- Little monkeys making money

You probably can't qualify as a Texas resident, but if you get into grad school and get a research or teaching assistantship, tuition may be covered or at least knocked down to the resident rate.

my brother is trying to get in-state tuition to CU, and he had to emancipate himself to establish residency. they really make you prove it, too, which means providing a year's worth of income statements and bills in your name; he's got to prove where all of his income is coming from, so parents can't even (directly) give him $1 or he risks his residency application being denied.
although, i do think it's just really strict up there so out-of-state people don't send their burnout kids to loaf around colorado for a year and then get 1/2 price tuition. sucks for him because he has to work 3 jobs for a year and sucks for my dad because he can't claim my brother on his taxes. he's actually got it pretty sweet, though, because he works at starbucks, so he's got health insurance, and also works as a hasher for a sorority, so that's 3 free meals a day. |

I think I'm gonna take the GRE and apply to grad school for PE.
The only problem is, I think I'd be in for trouble going back to Tech for a degree in PE since the fucking department chair there actually used to work for my dad way back when and they never got along very well heh which sucks because I'm sure Tech has a wonderful PE department -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!
