well the source is reliable, i dont think it was photoshopped.

I tried to google for more info on this guy and saw this from dallasnews.com

Tennell and Williams have talked a lot the last few months, but not much about track. Even on the biggest day of the high school track season, even on a day when they each had their best jumps of the year, their conversation would probably turn to football.

"That's what we talk about all the time," Tennell said.

But on Saturday, the big news of Tennell wasn't about a touchdown. It was about where he touched down. His winning leap came on his last attempt, when he was in second place behind Abilene's Lyle Leong.

"When he hit that last jump, I knew it was big," Irving coach Joseph Pouncy said. "But I didn't know it was that big."

It was big enough to break the 5A record of 25-6, although it won't be recognized because the wind was slightly over the limit.

but it doesnt say what the height was.

and theres no event in track for who jumps the highest unless you count high jump and that picture there is definitely not of someone doing high jump

im guessing that picture is a long jumper so the jump wouldnt be high at all itd be far

well i don't know anything about track, i just googled "lyle leong" and found that picture and article.

the first picture could be taken from a strange angle and look higher than it really is, but i'm told it's 100% authentic. anyway, i'm still looking forward to watching this guy play.

At Class 5A Abilene, he starred on the football team, played basketball and won two state titles in the high jump.

Leong has high jumped 7 feet, 1 inch in competition

LUBBOCK – Coach Mike Leach said there has been a lot of hype surrounding the debut of redshirt freshman receiver Michael Crabtree of Carter, but Leach said not to overlook Crabtree's backup, freshman Lyle Leong.

"Crabtree does a great job of finishing a route and getting open, doing something with the ball when he gets it," Leach said, "But if you had to throw a vertical ball to one of them, I'd probably throw it to Lyle. He does some good things and is a very consistent guy."

the world record vertical leap is ~60", so that has to be a photoshop or someone did something funky with the lighting and angles

the world record mens HJ is 8 ft. and high jump is less jumping more like throwing yourself over a bar

yeah that high jump 8 ft is up to the person's hips, not a vertical like moebary is saying. a 'vertical' is jumping straight up in the air from a stand still. this guy does not have a 6' vertical. that pic is about as photoshopped as it gets. the kids aren't even looking at him as he's making his astronomical jump. also look at how blurred the grass is where the real player would have been.

Calvin Johnson has a vertical of 43 inches - what in the world makes you think somebody who can seemingly have a running vertical of easily over 50 inches, would be playing for Tech ???????????????????????

well the whole pic is evenly blurred anyway

and it's a consensus that it's altered or on a very weird angle..so that's the end of that.

will this guy start or do you think he'll be backup?

with him and crabtree and amendola I'm not really worried about our receiving corps.

Kinda off topic but jonathan have you seen potts? Hes one of the biggest qbs i have seen, looks more like a linebacker. I think hes from abilene too
