well imho people need to grow up and realize you pay for utilities whether you're there or not. people like that need to understand that the master breaker for the house doesn't get shut off every time you walk out the door. thankfully all the roommates I've had were responsible and paid their share properly, whether they were in town or not.

Depends on the people in question. When my step-brother was gone, I closed the AC vents to his room and of course his computer and lights and such were off, so the electricity dropped to about 60% of what it was with both of us.

256 in electricity plus internet split 3 ways as always so well under 256 for each. i believe the number you had problem paying was 170ish THEN it possibly got into the 200's because it was the next month.
yes our electric bills were high. we had 2 water heaters, a large house that was built in the 30s and an old poorly done AC system

This is funny. This is why living with Stephanie has been the only good rooming situation. We split the bills and thats the end of it. We always pay each other if one of us moves out. If you are questioning the legality of who owes the bills, read the fuckin lease. I prefer ABI myself, makes life easy for me. This stuff always causes problems.

lease : rent and bills split 3 ways. there was an agreement to split bills evenly. the problem was these people didnt follow the lease. and since the bills were in my name i was forced to pay them anyways because i didnt want to get the power cut or lose my standing as a good customer at these utility places. i cant help being fucked over. only thing i could have done was go to my land lord and tell him they were being consistently delinquent.
