Childfree Options

So my friend joined this facebook group called Childfree. I was curious as to what it is, so I looked it up on wikipedia. I know that wikipedia is not exactly an accurate source, but I got a gist of what it is. Bascially childfree differs from childless in that for people who are childless wish to have child(ren), but can't have it for whatever reason it may be. Childfree is an active choice of not having child(ren) and never wanting it ever. And they listed a few reasons why people choose to be childfree, some of which includes not liking kids, having a traumatic childhood, not like how people change after they have kids, because of work, the world is over populated, etc. The only one I can understand is the occupation one, but then I feel like you still want kids, but can't have it because of your career. I'm trying to keep an open minded about it, but most of the reasons people have listed seem rather selfish, and borderline stupid. But I guess not liking kids is as good as any reason for not having kids. I don't know, anyone here who wish to be childfree or know anyone is?

yeah this reason is really dumb:

having a traumatic childhood

so if you're gonna have kids, make sure they don't have a traumatic childhood geez.

the other one i think is dumb:

not liking kids

ok it may sound like a no brainer, but here's the reality: people don't like other people's kids.

i personally want to have kids some day, but if i dont its not a huge deal. i dunno if i'd adopt a kid if my wife and i couldnt cook one up.

What the hell is the point of this? If you don't want to have just don't have kids. Why would you need to designate yourself as Childfree?

I was reading a report this morning on childbirth rates in Europe and how they've plummeted over the last few years.

The reason for this downturn was European young adults and 30 year olds just not wanting kids. They'd rather focus on themselves than attempt to raise a family (don't want to spend the time).

I thought that was interesting.

They continued by stating that if the birthrate stays the same for the next few years or declines even more, the economy there could start to stagnate within the next 15 years.

What the hell is the point of this? If you don't want to have just don't have kids. Why would you need to designate yourself as Childfree?

because everything has to have a designation nowadays.

instead of "hey my legs itch", we have "restless leg syndrome or (RLS)"

I know folks who don't want to have kids, but I don't see the need to form a group about it. Do people who chose to not have children face a lot of discrimination or something? As long as they don't think I'm retarded for wanting to have kids eventually, I've got no problem with folks not wanting to spawn. Hell, I wish more people would refrain from it.

we (anglo-saxons) are slowing down, whereas the arabs and hispanics and blacks are increasing. I don't know about asians...they're probably about like us.

eventually, we'll be diluted or extinct.

that is not racist...it is having pride in your ancestry and race. it seems everyone can have racial pride without reproach except the white man.
