I know I'm a bit late with celebrations, but congrats anyway. I'm a sucker for weddings ever since I started planning my own (ps if you need a coordinator let me know wink.gif)

Well, those statistics get considerably better in my favor since both of us are virgins, have not been cohabitating (and won't until after the wedding), regularly attend church together (both Catholic), and will be actively practicing NFP.
disclaimer: not being "preachy" in any way, just giving the reasons why i'm optomistic that the statistics will get better in my favor, not trying to insite a flame war, and i realize that the life choices i make are not always appealing nor do they work for everyone.

NFP?

Natural family planning is the practice of supposed birth control by abstaining from sex during the days of the month when the woman is fertile. It has a fairly high failure rate, but is the only method of birth control approved by the Catholic church.

Well, if used faithfully and properly it doesn't have as high a failure rate as one would expect since it's commonly misconstrued as just another name for the rhythm method.

http://www.catholic.net/RCC/Periodicals/Issues/NFP2.html

But I am very aware that this idea is neither convenient or appealing to everyone and it's a personal choice that my fiance and I have made together that we believe will help enrich our marriage... which I think is probably a pretty good idea. smile.gif

I do see the philosophical appeal of NFP, but I take issue with some of the logical underpinnings of the concept. Regardless, it sounds like you and your fiance will have a very happy marriage. May you successfully delay spawning for as long as you wish! wink.gif
