a lot of stores don't even advertise using the general term "mp3 player" anymore because "ipod" is the correct term in the eyes of dumb (most) consumers. |

For some people the iPod is the mp3 player that is best for them... but i do think may people do just get iPods rather than looking for other MP3 players.
