QUOTE (1up @ Aug 12 2007, 04:32 PM) *
No one is trying to disprove Christianity you dipshit. Everyone is laughing at the stupidity of Christians. Even when it's glaringly obvious that Christians are wrong they always scream "I believe in God!!!" and run away with their fingers in their ears going "blahblahblahb I can't hear you blahblahblahbah".

Wait a minute... that's the same thing you do everytime you lose an argument on Techsans! Hahahahaha!

says the guy that believes every conspiracy he reads off every crappy website he reads online

a quote I like from a famous scientist:

I like that one too. It's by Galileo.

QUOTE (impala454 @ Aug 13 2007, 10:28 AM) *
I don't understand you guys sometimes... it's not blind acceptance. It's called faith. faith is believing in something that cannot be proven. That's what all religions are.

There's a difference between believing something that can't be proven and believing in something that has been conclusively proven false. The former bothers me sometimes, but not as a general rule -- it's the latter attitude that drives me up the wall. If these folks refuse to believe that the moon reflects the sun's light because they're interpreting that passage in Genesis a certain way, then I think they're dumb. But it seems more likely to me that they just heard Bible passage + "this interpretation contradicts science" and went ballistic without really realizing what they were protesting.

I think it is unwise to not question what you believe in. By questioning your religion, beliefs, and faith does not make you any less un-faithful, or un-Christain in some cases. In fact, if your faith is strong enough, it should with stand any questions you or anyone else can throw at you. If your faith is so weak that it fails when you question your own faith, then why do you believe in it?

oh i agree totally. in fact questioning your faith often ends up strengthening your belief in it.

I've been saying that for years. No one ever listens. And it goes both ways - people who blindly hate Christianity are just as dumb as people who blindly follow Christianity

The only thing that is acceptable to unquestioningly hate are the New York Yankees. Fuck them.
