I am seriously getting to the point I don't know what to believe on this. A big part of me says it's completley obvious that dumping millions of tons of CO2 into our atmosphere is a bad thing, but there's propaghanda on both sides of the aisle....I've seen just as much bullshit out of the "environmental people" as I have the "energy people" so to speak. What do you all think? -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

What they forgot to mention about the Greenland ice sheet is that while some of it is melting, other parts of it are getting thicker.
And even without the human produced CO2, this is something our climate does, IT CHANGES. |

global warming IS occuring ... however, measuring the effects is a little tricky.
I think the best measure would be sea level (this still has errors of measure, since land moves, sinks, etc) another good measure is probably climate zones at certain latitudes. Like if the (now) temperate zones start creeping into the (previously) permafrost zones. or whatever is next to each other. It is hard to say how much the USA will impact it. Global warming is a GLOBAL problem. China and India is MAJOR manufacturing countries and huge pollutors. Rain forest in south america and africa are being removed (think of plants like carbon reserves) and deforestation is everywhere. It is impossible to figure who has the rights to pump out how much pollution. We have already passed a max, meaning ALL developed nations will already want all the rights and developing nations cannot even have a chance. This bring moral dillemas on who has the right to be the most advanced. |

QUOTE (Lancifer @ Mar 21 2006, 10:09 AM) I'd rather the changes be natural changes instead of changes because of human actions. so would I this quote from Bush is probably the most accurate thing he's ever said QUOTE We do not know how fast change will occur, or even how some of our actions could impact it.
