I'm in the market for a new phone as mine is not up to par (dropping calls, and not receiving "missed calls"...though I get a voicemail).

I am currently using Sprint, but that could change I suppose.

I am not a texter...you text me, I call you back. I don't need to "work" from my phone so email and all that doesn't matter. I could care less about ring tones as I'm on vibrate only. browsing the web I could also care less about.

What does matter is medium size (not huge or PDA-ish), durability (my shit gets beat the hell up and often dropped), perhaps a music dealio so I could ditch the nano (I hate too many gadgets and wires)...but besides stable calls, a good camera is a must! I mean a good one that I can shoot, ship, and someone get and know wtf they're looking at in a nice resolution.

I'm not real hip on the latest hooyahs, so I was throwing this out there since 100% of you guys are more initiated in this stuff than I. Thanks.

i have the samsung sgh d807 (i think cathryn might also have it?). it's a great phone.

1.3 megapixel camera, music player and mini-sd slot so you can have several gigs of music/files

edit: feels kinda light, though; i used to have a razr (best phone i ever had), and the razr had a metal case, so this might just be a "normal" weight. this also has a large screen that scratches easily, but i bought 1 pack of screen protectors which will probably last for several years.

my girlfriend has that samsung, it's pretty nice, i have to admit.

for sprint, what you want seems to be one of the following:

there's the online-only-fairly-basic Muziq
http://nextelonline.nextel.com/NASApp/onli...oneSKU=LG570KIT

And then there's the Upstage
http://nextelonline.nextel.com/NASApp/onli...eSKU=SPHM620ZRA

I like the upstage's feel more than anything else about it, the whole dual-sidy mp3 player thing isn't really my thing, but i'm sure it would be nifty to fiddle with if you're bored. It feels really solid though, I like that.

Can't really give you a lot of advice on a phone that's just made for....phoning.

not my bag o worms.
