My opinion still stands that I'd rather trust Bear to save me than a guy that looks like a high school Home Economics teacher. The purpose of the show is to teach you to get out of these dangerous places, and Bear does that. -------------------- LANCE IS PRO-CENSORSHIP! HE IS CENSORING MY LOVE FOR THE LORD!

The majority of the shit he does on camera though is still impressive. -------------------- LANCE IS PRO-CENSORSHIP! HE IS CENSORING MY LOVE FOR THE LORD!

bear will eat a bug..... i had friends in elemetary who would do that.
survivorman will make something tasty out of leaves. anyone can cram random shit in their mouth to survive.... the key to survival skills is how comfrtably you can survive with as little aid as possible. so, survivorman wins. but, the fact he stays in a hotel doesn't mean he knows any less about survival, he shows you how to do it, knows how to do it. big deal -------------------- |

I don't understand this who's better/whose worse shit.
I love both shows. Each has their own feel and differences that make me enjoy them independently. -------------------- |

*cough* you were wrong just admit it *cough* How can my opinion be "wrong?" I tried watching Survivorman the other day and he was just sitting out on a raft on the ocean. Great tv! Then the weather was so bad that they had to pull him in or he could risk dying. So how is that different from Bear's situation? Bear shows people how to build shelter and sleep in it, doesn't mean he has to do it every time. I can see the point of throwing all the raft pieces around there. By "discovering" these pieces, he has an opportunity to show people how to make a raft if they happen upon materials to do such. Otherwise he'd just do like Survivorman and say "If there was some wood around here then you could make a boat, but I don't have wood so I'm not going to show you how." The whole point of the other thread was who is the bigger badass, which Bear clearly won. You tried to steer it toward "who would you trust more in survival situations?" which I believe Bear also won. The subject was not "Which TV show is 100% accurate in its portrayal of events?" I think if we argued which TV show is more entertaining, Bear would STILL win. I can guarantee you that Les has some tricks up his sleeve that he doesn't mention on camera, and to not think so is naive. Just admit it, Survivorman is a Canadian, and by definition he's lame. -------------------- LANCE IS PRO-CENSORSHIP! HE IS CENSORING MY LOVE FOR THE LORD!

is that why you said "bear by a million miles" in the other thread? yep. I enjoy "Man vs. Wild" more than survivorman. But they are both cool. ::EDIOT:: ^^^ 4th'd for me. This post has been edited by Psykopath: Jul 25 2007, 11:07 AM -------------------- |
