Of course we all know the typical boring "I'd put it all in investments and blah blah". this is pretty obvious because you gotta set yourself up for life for bills and such. but this question is all about what you'd buy. i'm sure most of us would have at least a few items we'd grab (car/house/electronics/jewlery/etc) before putting the rest away for investments. List your top 10. Be specific so it's interesting wink.gif

I think i would do the responsible thing and get the 26 year allotment... unless the jackpot amount was low.. then i would get a lump sum and put it in a high yield money market account and suplement my income with the interest... ya know, live comfortably

I'd like to buy my parents a house, this way they'll have a home after they retire.
Then probably get myself a house with a badass brewing system and a cellar to age beers.
That new Porsche 911 Turbo is pretty sweet. All wheel drive, variable vane geometry twin-turbo charged, with overboost, and 6-speed manual(even though their flappy paddle shifter is supposed to be faster.

i'd live on a self-sustaining compound in the middle of the mountains... i'd build tunnels all through the mountain so i could survive a nuclear war, and i would have booby traps so when i don't pay taxes the irs agents will be wasted

My vanity would quickly take control... braces, LASIK, a personal trainer... etc etc

I'd probably do a bit of globetrotting too. Go to all the random places i've always wanted to visit...

I'd take cash, just because that would be way pimp.

But there's no lotto in Utah. I did however buy some tickets occasionally when I lived in Texas.

Same. Have you ever noticed that the people who buy lotto tickets are always white trash? If your only chance of ever being successful in life is by winning the state lottery, you're a loser.

Cash option; there are WAY better investment options out there than US Treasury Bonds. But I rarely buy lottery tickets, so it's kind of a moot point. Still...

1. House for my mom & step-father, but only if they allowed me to arrange for the demolition of their current house (it's total crap).
2. Help my dad & step-mom pay off their mortgage.
3. House for myself, complete with workshop.
4. Prius to drive and another car to play around with as a project car. Probably another Prius or other hybrid because I'd want to play around with making a plug-in hybrid.
5. Kick ass desktop computer and laptop.
6. Home theatre system.

Erm, probably other stuff too, but I dunno exactly what.

depends how much lottery there was.

if high enough... i'm investing and going off interest. i'm buying a huge house, giving small parts of my earnings to my friends that i feel have been the best to me. then, i'm going traveling. traveling alone kinda sucks, i'd also take several of my closest friends, and wiere gonna become intercontinental lushes!

This. nod.gif

Plus I'd buy a hybrid for day to day driving.
A kick-ass muscle car just because.
And a Jeep CJ-7 for camping trips.

I'd also own a nice cabin and some land in either the mountains of New Mexico (around Cloudcroft) or in Montana.

I'd also STILL get my Master's, possibly PhD. Figure I'd have all the spare time in the world so why the hell not?
