Good point, but playing for only 25% of maximum playing time isn't jersey retirement material. That'd be like someone in the pros playing for only four years (this is being generous, depending on sport/position), having outstanding stats all four years, not bringing home the championship, and having their jersey retired. It's not gonna happen. The athlete won't even be in HOF contention.

Me personally, I'd like to have a backup plan in case that happens. right but he's already signed an NBA contract. like will said he will get at the very least some contract insurance money, prob in the single millions. if he stayed in college and got a career ending injury, he would never make a single dime. i know it doesn't sound like the "right" thing to do, but it honestly is the only thing TO do. you're risking millions for the chance to make some low 5 figure salary (from whatever college degree he'd get). by going to the NBA you're guaranteed to make low millions, but more than likely will end up making way more than that. |

ok well if the guy isn't gonna manage his money well with 3 million what makes you think he'll manage it well with his $28,000 crap degree job?
and comparing ryan leaf to kevin durant is dumb. durant will spend more on cars this year than leaf would have made in the NFL |
