so recovering from back surgery and climbing mountains (no doubt with oxygen tanks and a full set of supplies) = survival skills... gotta love the logic you obviously haven't watched his show much... the theme of every show is him showing you how to survive and get out. bottom line... 20 years experience vs 3. hmm. What made it obvious that I haven't watched his show much, was it the part where I said I'd only seen one episode? You've been arguing for 20+ years but a 3 year old could probably put together a more valid debate than you can on many subjects, so that trumps your "more experience is better" theory. I bet you guys would also want toby mcguire with you in case you fell from a building. or you'd want tom cruise to be on your plane so he could take over since he's such a good pilot edit: i actually would rather have edward grylls with me, in case i was accidentally airdropped into mexico Maybe I just trust a guy that is trained by a military program that is respected around the world. And now you're faulting the guy for getting a college education? keyword "short" career in the music industry. that's bc the other TWENTY years he was a wilderness guide and survival class instructor... You trust your life with a guy that couldn't hold his job at a music company and ran away into the woods! -------------------- LANCE IS PRO-CENSORSHIP! HE IS CENSORING MY LOVE FOR THE LORD!

so that trumps your "more experience is better" theory. so more experience is not better? Maybe I just trust a guy that is trained by a military program that is respected around the world. I didn't say I wouldn't trust the guy, and don't blame you for trusting him, but the question being debated is "who is better". I just fail to see the logic that someone with three years of spec ops training is 'better' at survival than someone who's been a wilderness guide and survival instructor for twenty years. les was teaching surival classes and guiding people through the wilderness when edward grylls was still wetting the bed. And now you're faulting the guy for getting a college education? no, just thought it was funny (the "hispanic studies" degree). You trust your life with a guy that couldn't hold his job at a music company and ran away into the woods! was he fired from his music job? guess I missed that part. and he didn't run away into the woods, he wanted to see if he could live there on his own with minimal outside assistance, which he accomplished. it's hilarious how you guys are all totally fooled by the TV show dramatics. |

ok.... after careful consideration, i have decided that i would take les the survivor man.... because bear does some DUMB stuff in order to get the hell outta places.... i saw the fucker get in a leaky boat and try to cross a river that was half ice in alaska.... ended up having to swim the other half.... and bear seems to know how to do the minimum to survive.. the guy makes a show about eating bugs, and nasty shit... yes, you can survive off it, but you sure ain't gonna enjoy it... while the survivor man provides a bit higher comfort level. if i'm spending a long damn time outside, i want les. if i was kicked somewhere involuntarily and it's reasonable i could walk back to society, then bear is the choice, but i'm pretty damn sure les can get back to society just as easily.

here's i determined the winner
if both were on a deserted island and cannibalism was the only means of survival using the losers bones, skin, and hair to make a boat..i'm taking bear over kum bai ya to survive that one -------------------- |

i saw the fucker get in a leaky boat and try to cross a river that was half ice in alaska.... ended up having to swim the other half.... The boat wasn't leaky at the start, remember? The ice flow became thicker as he went down river and the underwater ice began to shear his boat. -------------------- |

bear because he'll get me the fuck out of there
survivorman seems to enjoy his plight but he's definitely more of a wilderness survivor...he knows how to utilize what he has where he is bear is more of a daredevil survivor... the whole camera crew argument is retarded....there's no way a producer of a television show is going to let a guy go out in the wilderness by himself without some way of contact in case he's in real trouble....there are a lot of legal ramifications if one of those guys dies both of them operate without help but if they need it help is not far behind -------------------- "Ah, y'know it's funny, these people they go to sleep, they think everything's fine, everything's good. They wake up the next day and they're on fire."
