I know this is a few days late, but this is probably one of the most polarizing finales ever. Everybody hated the Seinfeld ending, but some people think this ending was brilliant, others think it was a shitfest. I haven't been able to shake it off my mind for some reason. What do you think?

It was absolutely brilliant.

It was left to the viewers' imagination. Loved it.

I thought it was a steaming pile of shit (the ending, not the episode). I know that he left it open and all of that crap, but it felt like more of a cop out than brilliance. It's like me throwing a paint covered tennis ball at a wall and calling it impressionist art. I don't need to have a totally conclusive ending to be satisfied, but I have to be given some clue in as to what the writer intended. David Chase giving us that ending and then pretending it's clear as day pisses me off.

David Chase:

"I have no interest in explaining, defending, reinterpreting, or adding to what is there," said Chase, 61, who grew up in North Caldwell.

"People get the impression that you're trying to (mess) with them, and it's not true. You're trying to entertain them," he said. "Anybody who wants to watch it, it's all there."

Well the ending served its purpose.
We're STILL talking about it and the show.
Regardless of your take, it will stick with you until the DVD comes out.

I know, that's the worst part. I need some kind of resolution and that ending provided none. Even a fade to black would have signified to me that the family goes on living and all of that, but the cut to black was a dick move. And bringing up this crap about Carlo flipping, just to make everything even more uncertain. Fuck you David Chase!

That's what I thought too. Just like his flashback of Bobby in the previous episode says "I'll bet you never even hear it coming." That's what pisses me off, I've worked harder in the past few days trying to figure out the ending than David Chase did. He spent all his work coming up with a way to not make an ending.

David Chase pussed out.

I bet AJ's womanish, whiny candy-ass character was loosely based on David Chase as a young womanish, whiny candy-ass.
