Some of the most common things I eat, by meal, in order (under each category) from most to least often consumed. Breakfast ~ Shake w/ almond or cashew milk, banana, and either greens or more fruit ~ Orange juice and fruit ~ [Weekends] Wheat pancakes w/ real maple syrup and tons of fresh fruit (usually strawberries and something else). Lunch ~ Large salad. Usually contains greens, cucumber, tomato, red bell pepper, carrot, and dressing. Sometimes has turkey bacon and hard boiled egg. ~ Leftovers from dinner (see below) ~ Sandwiches (usually avocado, tomato, sprouts, and light miracle whip) and fruit. Dinner ~pint of semen fixed -------------------- |

Breakfast:
Food Egg/toast Kolache Bagel Drink Orange Juice Cranberry Juice Coffee (usually 2 cups) Lunch I usually eat leftovers from dinner the night before, sushi, or sometimes I will go get Chick-fil-a (serious cut back lately). I usually have a small salad with lunch if possible. I don't usually drink soda at all, maybe once in a while. Hot tea is my main thing as well as water. Dinner Bigger salad with a full dinner of meat, fresh vegetables (steamed or raw), and some form of whole grain bread. It gets a little old sometimes so I go get Thai food or Mexican depending on my mood usually 2-3 times a month. As far as kolaches go, my family is Czech and German so we eat the real thing, usually poppyseed, cream cheese or sauerkraut and sausage (real sausage, which makes them klobasnek). My mom makes them occasionally (they take around 10 hours) and we eat them up within a week. I need to edit that Wikipedia entry and add Hruska's on Highway 71 in Ellinger to the list of amazing kolache stops in Texas. The Czech Stop is good but I've had bad batches from there before. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

Breakfast: Bowl of cereal (Marshmallow Mateys, Cinnamon Toasters, Cocoa Dino Bites, Honey Bunches of Oats is good) , maybe some juice or applesauce, or a GoTart if I'm out of time
Lunch: Either a sandwich on whole wheat with light mayo, Sarah Lee turkey and munster cheese or a bagel (plain or cinnamon raisin) with whipped cream cheese and chips (Gardettos or nacho cheese Doritos) Dinner: When we're really lazy, either a sandwich or a Hot Pocket/Lean Cuisine. Otherwise, something with ground beef, chicken breast, steak (used in fajitas) or pork chops with an appropriate side dish ranging from pasta to a salad to mac n cheese to mashed potatoes to corn to baked beans. After dinner: I've been bad about this lately, but another bowl of Marshmallow Mateys, a Weight Watchers dessert (the chocolate chip cookie one is the best) or other assorted sweet (like if I happen to have made Rice Krispie Treats) To drink: Because I'm cheap, at work I drink water if I don't bring something from home. Lately I've been drinking flavored carbonated water, and I love it! It's the bubbly that I need without being the calories and sugar I don't need. At home, anything from V8 Splash to water to cranberry or apple or orange juice. I wish I ate half as healthy as some of you guys. The thing is, I have been an extremely picky eater my whole life. Part of it stems from my parents being too lenient when it came to making me finish all my food. Whatever the reason, it's not something that's gonna change with just a reintroduction. I don't do spicy, and even things like bell peppers are too hot for my tastes. It's why I eat so much of the same things over and over. I really don't think some people understand how much I hate being picky, and how if I had my way I wouldn't be. I was once called "ignorant" because I tried asparagus again and still didn't like it. Go fig. -------------------- Forget regret

Go fig. Hrm, we might be able to help with that. Some foods taste much better when prepared a certain way. For instance, I like fresh spinach, but steamed or creamed spinach makes me gag. Are there any foods that you'd like to eat more or like better? I or others on here might be able to make suggestions on various recipes or methods of preparation for you to try. Oh and... are you calling bell peppers hot as an exaggeration? I ask because bell peppers contain no capsaicin, thus zero heat... KC, I redefine the word picky... I feel you on everything you said. I cant eat like everyone else on here. I get sick to my stomach when I try new things.
Things I wont touch: meat (except for turkey bacon, coconut shrimp, and chick fil a chicken nuggets) anything mixed together like salad or spaghetti with sauce. I mean NOTHING mixed together if its remotely spicey, I wont eat it. period. Pepper is spicey. tomato products are spicey, etc. I understand what she says about bell peppers If its creamy, not for me... no sauces or dressings rubbery food grosses me out too |

Actually, I have been to a food therapist a couple times and several nutritionists. All of them tell me the same thing: part of it is my sense of smell (I smell things different than everyone else) and part is psychological. Problem is, I have been like this since I was a baby. My mom would try force feeding me and wouldnt work. She wouldnt let me leave the table until I ate my food and drank my milk. I would sit there until 9 and 10 at night until she would start threatening to take things away... never worked. Im stubborn as shit. I have NEVER EVER met anyone that is nearly as picky as me...although I did see an episode of Dr. Phil where this girl ate almost exactly like me and apparently its some type of eating disorder.... who knows

cupcake... you're gonna be one of those grizzled old bastards who hates and is suspicious of everything.. huh? hahaha I'm afraid I already am one. I'm buttermilk. the ironic part is I am as initiated as anyone when it comes to cuisine outside of the norm. I was eating sushi and drinking plum saki as a teenager in okinawa. whoopdeefuck. (I only use sushi because it's a big trend that wasn't in 92 when I was in oki...I still eat it usually a couple times a month). just because something is cultured doesn't mean it is refined. buttermilk is cultured but that does not constitute it a fine beverage. I like what I like. just because something is novel, ecclectic, or foreign doesn't mean it's great. and simply because you have exposure to something doesn't require one to adopt it as an integral part of their lives. try everything, decide for yourself what you are. never let a scene or style define who you are. that said, my new goal is to stay away from processed and boxed foods. |

jessica...you are my food doppleganger... Yeah, same for me. I'll eat just about anything. I don't think I've seen jessica eat anything but french fries, and when I offered her some of my Spanky's fries she wouldn't take any of the fries that had touched my hamburger... And I use the word Doppleganger all the time, I don't know why some people get it and others don't. I've been doing a pretty good job of not eating so much processed and boxed foods. When we go grocery shopping we start in the produce section and fill up as much of the basket as we can with fruits and vegetables. Then to the seafood area for some combination of shrimp, salmon, orange roughy, scallops, and tilapia. Next is my meat, steak, beef, ground turkey, chicken breasts, turkey bacon. Then the rest of the shopping consists of stuff like cheese, natty peanut butter, frozen fruit, eggs, etc. I'd say it's I eat a lot healthier than I did a year ago and better than the average american. Now I just have to give up caffeine and diet dr. pepper. -------------------- LANCE IS PRO-CENSORSHIP! HE IS CENSORING MY LOVE FOR THE LORD!
