I support this idea. No "submission of friend's email addy" with signup, though. That's just lame.

maybe if you assholes didn't run off new people, mayhaps make a separate forum area where we could run off the idiots but have like a "safe zone" where new people could feel welcome.

I have plans to make the main techsans.net page similar to google and you can search for or enter professor ratings. I have the rating system back up and working. All I need to do is make the page pretty.
The ratearaider thing sounds cool to me though. I still have the software for it, but it sucks. I'd be interested in combining the ratearaider stuff back into the site, but it'll take some work and time I probably don't have. I think Impala is interested in hosting some stuff on his spare server, I can give it to him and he can put it up if he wants. Or if anyone else wants to take a stab at it and code a better version up I'll put it on the page, although if someone did that they'd probably want to start their own site up. |

What's wrong with the older version? I can barely even remember what it looked like.

It's just plain ugly, looks like myspace, and has a few bugs. It's a commercial product that Hartmann got the code to (a friend of his had bought it and passed it on to him *cough* *cough*). I also have a free open source picture rating hotornot software but it's a huge bandwidth and memory hog. This was 4 or 5 years ago though so there are probably better alternatives out there. |

Was it commercial? I could have sworn it was the open source thing and that's why there were so many problems with it. Don't remember exactly though.

Yeah, separate logins would suck. Obviously, we could just populate both databases with the same information, but that'd be silly and a waste of space.
