I'm looking for some feedback on my Web site. In every aspect. Let me hear good, bad, and ugly. Aesthetics and content. Give it to me. Thanks.

too plain. professional, yes. but so simple it looks like you copy-pasted a generic template.

put a little pizazz in there, maybe use some different "power" colors
maybe keep the baish, but instead of the tacky green, use a bold burgundy/crimson red

i was going for professional. i agree with the plain too. i'll try to work on that.
it wasn't a template. i hand coded the whole thing, except the blog, which i made to fit my design. what about changing the link colors from blue to something that stands out more?
maybe the header image to orange and white and then the links to orange.

what ever you do, choose a color scheme. usually best to use 3 different colors. i believe the main should be the baish you currently have. it's warm, friendly, professional, and easy on the eyes. if you do orange, don't go for a high school girl bright in your face orange, maybe a burnt orange. it will give you a look of style if you can pull it off right. and then the 3rd color should be something darker. almost a black, or a dark deep brown would be better. would help contrast the baish AND the burnt orange, while the high contrast would provide a bit of "modern" look. very important to make sure your dark color isn't too black though, or your entire layout will look halloweenish. and i didn't think you copy-pasted it, it just looked like you did is all.

other color options you should try would be to stick with the baish, and use a dark navy blue for accent. always liked the way it looked, with maybe a bit of dull/brushed gold for the links and other really small bits to bring out a bit of style.

I like that it's simple. The non-white background is easy on the eyes, you picked a good, clear font. I like that you went to the trouble of getting the little icons that go with the sites you linked, and made them all the same size. I like when people put links within the content for items a layperson may not understand.

you may want to work on the layout a little so that it stretches the text when the browser is a different size, rather than it just throwing out more blank space. you could also create a page sized background for your page to fit on, if you want the page to display at a specific size. also if you grab the right side of the browser and bring it in, the text ends up squeezed against the left side of the page. lastly I think maybe your header graphic is a little on the large side, and maybe your nav links could be redone a little, as they're just kinda floating way off to the right in that huge space.

oh and i'm not real sure what it's doing, but every time I click a nav link or on the initial site visit, it asks me seven times whether I want to accept a cookie for this site (normally I just click block all, but I thought you may like to know how many times it did that).

very good start though, definitely the type of site I like, simple.

edit: and you're pretty brave putting that much detailed contact info up for all to see wink.gif

what is the cookie called?
if it has something to do with quicktime, it's from the stats program and it's pissing me off too.

not sure, didn't accept any of them. page still worked though. yeah stats programs shouldn't be trying to put cookies out.

Just a personal preference but I would keep the links to outside sites at a minimum. Again it's just a preference but I think they take away from the overall feel of the site.

Other than that I think the site looks good. I would work on integrating more color (this is why I was so drawn to the links, the little colorful icons).

Also, I'd probably use a different font for the main content. Is this going to be purely informational? If so I'd make the font larger and easier to read and have clearly defined sections within the content.

I have Tahoma but I'm not a loser blink.gif (completely unnecessary comment in my opinion)

But I was thinking Georgia or something like it.
