It was difficult to judge the exact number of zombies that shuffled through the city's shopping district, losing limbs, blood, and unmentionable body parts along the way, but probably at least 150 converged on Union Square. Then they decided to visit nearby businesses, including the Apple store, Nordstrom, the Disney store, and the Westfield Mall. The event was titled "SF Zombie Mob 2007," and it was organized by the gruesome-minded folks at eatbrains.com. It's akin to a flash mob, though because the participants trek around the city after gathering, the Zombie Mob was closer in concept to the Critical Mass bicycle ride, which coincidentally was happening at the same time along the same street. In truth, it was a pretty polite affair: only passers-by who volunteered to become zombie-fied were, and no arrests took place. It may be worth noting that the Westfield Mall and Disney security tried to bar the zombies from entering, but Apple store security did not. In fact, salespeople were jostling one another for a position where they could take the best photo of the zombies (or themselves with the zombies, or their brains being eaten by the zombies). Basically about 150 people in San Francisco did themselves up zombie-style and more or less invaded a mall and shit... This is the most awesomest idea for a flash mob EVER. -------------------- WAIT. looks more annoying to the people who work at these businesses than anything else. What's the point, to promote zombie awareness?

 however if something this cool went down in lubbock the people involved would get arrested and a big deal made of it.

Yeah, this wouldn't go over well in lubbock.
SF has a long history of flashmobs though. They seem to be pretty tolerant of them there. NYC and London as well, and to a lesser (more dangerous) extent, LA. I could see this happening in Austin maybe, though. But there's a lot of drunk rednecks with guns... someone could go Resident Evil on some poor kid. ....would make for one hell of a interesting fucking court case though... like, if the dude seriously believed his life was in danger from a zombie, would he get off on self defense? can you seriously believe your life is in danger from something that (popular opinion) maintains is fictional (in court)? etc etc etc. -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.
