we still have our military over there, still killing terrorists, trying to keep peace, still have deaths everyday. it's still a war as far as i'm concerned.

well yeah i know there's still a war there, but the news posted above doesn't seem to have any americans in there (although i didn't read very thoroughly).

yeah it probably doesn't have to do with Americans, but just the stability of Iraq in general. I guess I just wanted a thread for all the iraq stories, instead of one for each thing that happens (unless its major).

That mosque attack is fueling the fire for a possible civil war/sectarian violence. Such a thing would most certainly affect US troops then...

i think after the iraq war started, every other thread in NPR was a new news story about iraq. so it all got pinned at the time for good reason.
