Dell blows. I like that they're shipping with Ubuntu effective today though.

hurting for sales? please, I'm surprised they didn't do this earlier. Believe it or not, tons of people buy their PC's from WalMart, and with the exception of laptops, the biggest name Walmart used to sell was HP. Other than that they were all Walmart generic machines with Linspire installed on them to shave costs associated with XP licenses.
These Dells will sell. -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.

I didn't say they wouldn't sell, I said Dell must be hurting for sales. If by "hurting for sales" you mean "Number 2 computer manufacturer on the planet" then yes, they are hurting for sales. Just because they make a smart move to step outside of their business model doesn't mean they're hurting, it just means that they are trying to find a way to pass HP again. -------------------- LANCE IS PRO-CENSORSHIP! and who is number 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 ,9, 10 in computer sales? #2 out of 3 major players doesn't put you in a good position.

I know that HP has approximately 17.5% market share and dell has somewhere in the range of 13-14%, so there is more than 3 manufacturers. And Zetec is right, they make lots of money. dell= QUOTE Revenue $55.908 Billion USD (2006) Net income $3.572 Billion USD (2006) (6.39% profit margin) hp= QUOTE Revenue $91.7 billion USD (2006)
