not to completely derail here, but Texas is about to push through a bill that would hold dog owners responsible for unprovoked attacks which seriously harm or kill someone. if your dog kills someone, you could receive up to 20 years behind bars.

I wonder if they'll expand it to property in the future, since we're kind of big on property rights down here and if that property will include animals such as cattle, horses, and dogs.
