you ever think about using dvdprofiler? pretty nifty program. you enter the UPC codes off the back of your DVDs and it downloads all information, as well as the cover art (front and back) and allows you to export the data in several formats.
http://www.dvdprofiler.com oh nifty.. they have a new version too i'll have to grab that when I get home. |

ah, well you *can* enter them by UPC, but you can also add by quick title search. I usually end up doing that on some dvds where the UPC is wrong. it's definitely not anything essential, but nifty to keep track of what you have or use the exported data to create web pages.
here's what it puts up as a default collection page when you sign up: http://www.invelos.com/dvdcollection.aspx/impala454 the software is free up to 50 dvds, then $30 one time to purchase. you can add as many as you want in the free version, you just lose the ability to export the list to different formats, and the case art images are lower res. |

btw that "Borg Fan Collection" is a bad ass DVD
has: TNG: "Q Who" TNG: "Best of Both Worlds" 2 parter TNG: "I, Borg" TNG: "Descent" 2 parter VGR: "Scorpion" 2 parter VGR: "Drone" VGR: "Dark Frontier" VGR: "Unimatrix Zero" 2 parter VGR: "Endgame" 2 pater (and final series episode) and some dumbass Star Trek Enterprise episode... i suppose I'll watch it some time. anyhow, you've got basically 5 feature length episodes that could well be considered standalone movies, and several other good episodes, for like $30. I would highly recommend any of those 2 part episodes. |

speaking of employers and web presence, i did a research paper for one of my final graduate classes on this topic, and some of the findings were interesting and semi alarming.
i remember something like 60% of employers use myspace and facebook to scout a potential employee when hiring and of that 60%, 70% have used something against the potential employee in the hiring process. i can give some more accurate numbers if anyone is interested. -------------------- Don't sweat the petty, pet the sweaty.

no, yours is more than fine. the stuff that was of concern was obvious stuff mostly on social networking sites like myspace. people for some reason don't think that those sites are public and post pictures of them hammered, etc.

Speaking of Endgame, it was on Spike yesterday. edit: i always wondered why they never touched on the borg in DS9; the Defiant class was made to be a borg-buster, and with the wormhole they were technically the most likely to run into the borg outside of voyager. Yes I always thought that. But the dominion storyline was pretty neat. -------------------- "Ah, y'know it's funny, these people they go to sleep, they think everything's fine, everything's good. yeah if you took all the right episodes in order you'd end up with one long 15 hr or so movie.

i still maintain they need to go back and make a "special edition" of the latter half of the series; all those space battles were badass, but if you watch more than one episode in a row, you can see that almost all of them are the same battle, broken up in different ways. They reuse the same clips a LOT. Voyager's CGI effects (they switched to CGI 3rd season) were waaaay better than DS9's models. (I think they won a CGI Emmy for "Timeless")
