I will say this about 1911s...they are a "get used to it" kind of thing.

they're not anything you want to carry until you can use them in your sleep...to quote someone who recently fired mine "there's just too much shit going on back there" (referring to the rear part of the gun).

the main mistake I see people do with them is after loading a mag, and racking back the slide, which results in the hammer "cocked", they then slightly pull the trigger and ride the hammer "home"...thinking it's safer that way.

in actuality that is much more dangerous in that 1. it can go bang if you don't ride it home slowly, and 2. you have no firing pin block (like are on double actions), so if you drop the gun it actually could go off just from the hammer bounce.

but the way they are designed is to simply rack the slide and put the weapon on safe...though the look of a cocked weapon makes people uncomfortable.

either carry it in condition 3 (mag inserted, no round in chamber, hammer home), or condition 1 (round in chamber, weapon on safe, hammer cocked).

condition 2 is a no-no for 1911s...yet is the most common mistake double action shooters make. even military guys who are used to the beretta make this mistake.

my SIG doesn't have an external safety, so usually i don't keep a round chambered unless the situation is a bit more unpredictable.

oh i know, thats the main reason i bought it. i wanted an extremely safe gun that was fast on the draw and as few complications as possible.

czechs are dependable weapons. the springfield XD is just a czech HS2000...that should say a lot.

I don't know about the one on that page, but the CZ 75 is perhaps the most popular handgun on the planet.

investment to me reads like something with some resale value (like your sig), which I doubt this has. but a $200 reliable shooter is a good buy.

still debating on the pistol grip foregrip... or a flashlight/grip combo would be awesome..... but really damn expensive, and i dunno where to get them.

SideWinder offers a pistol grip that isn't completely vertical... it is at a 45 degree angle to the left of the gun... more ergonomic to the hand, supposed to be extremely stable and sturdy... may look into that if the flashlight fails me...

so, this mod'd shotty won't be very expensive as far as guns go. and it won't be that flashy, but i'm wanting quality, and i don't trust any other shotgun as much as i do mossberg. i've never had anything go wrong with any of them i have owned, and it's said the persuader is tougher than most mossbergs.... hell, i saw an advertisement where they too this gun, laid it in a creek bed for an entire year, came back, gave it a few knocks, cleared the barrel, loaded it and fired the thing with no issues.

I've never liked pistol grips, just a personal preference. Though I use my shotgun mostly for dove hunting where I'd lose too much accuracy with a pistol grip.

for sport and recreation, agree wholeheartedly. like a dumbass, I tried to shoot skeet with a riot benelli and was just wasting shells.

I think Brandon's is intended for home zombie invasion.
