I'll cheer when Fred Phelps dies, but most everyone else, no.

I don't mind that other people are glad he's dead. I understand, I really do. I just can't bring *myself* to cheer about somebody's death, no matter how much of a sorry excuse for a human being I think he was.

Well if someone like Hilary Clinton got hit by a bus, I wouldn't exactly be crying, but I'm also not gonna make it a point to post a "good riddance" post either.

that polarizing, hateful, ignorant bigot got to live 3x...4x longer than many truly good christians I know...

he is the opposite of what a christian should aspire for. I suck at being a good christian, but at least I know it.

73 years is more than he deserved. so...well...cya!

I won't cheer his death, but I sure as fuck won't shed a tear over it either.

Burn in the hell you created, Falwell, you self-richeous prick.

I don't know what response you expected to get. This guy wasn't exactly a beacon of light. When bigots like this die it's only natural for people to celebrate. Just like when Al Sharpton goes. I'm gonna have a cookout.

well apparently to the first few posters, when someone who doesn't share their beliefs dies it's a time to celebrate.

"Herpes, AIDS, venereal diseases ... are a definite form of the judgment of God upon a society"
-Jerry Falwell

Ya know, I'm pretty sure that since he views AIDS as God's punishment for gay people, Falwell would probably celebrate my death. I'll do the same favor for him.

I don't know if he'd celebrate your death, but probably pray for your life, who knows.

either way, the idea that aids or any other std is a punishment from god doesn't seem too far-fetched if you're a christian. in my opinion anyway.

Just to play devil's advocate: You seem like a very conservative person (understatement), what were your sentiments when Saddam was hanged? What about when Iraqi insurgents are killed by our troops?
