Ok, I know this is a dumb question, but can you use the xp download off eraider to make a bootable disc? Do you just copy all the extracted files over to a blank CD?

i actually ended up downloading a pirated copy elsewhere and using the legit key with it that way (be careful of all the hacked/"modded" xp copies out there), but there is some (really complicated) guide out there (involving modifying boot sectors and stuffs)

http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_...vice-Packs.html

This sounds a lot like what I did several years ago to make a bootable version. Crimson (I think was her name) posted a how-to guide for doing this a long time ago, but obviously it was lost with the reset.

nah it wasnt complicated and didnt have to do with modifying boot sectors.

crims0n posted a link to some small application you could download that packaged it a certain way...i've got several cds still that i made from it and boot and install perfectly, but i also forgot where the website was. someone needs to find her!

some info here: http://www.geekgirls.com/windowsxp_slipstream.htm

i do remember having to extract the i386 folder and doing something with that...and the site she listed also had a how-to on how to slipstream it with sp2, which i did and worked great.

winner! thats it!

here's the site:
http://www.nu2.nu/bootcd/#wxp

i think this is it. it may not be the one crims0n posted, but i know i've used this before and it works. i was pretty sure it had instructions for sp2 as well, bc i know i've done it before...or maybe you just use the same instructions.

whatever happend to crims0n and her husband anyway?
