yeah, im kinda liking Guiliani as well. I just need to read a little more on him

you should.

there is a very important intangible aspect to this election versus any other in recent history...

the worldwide image of the US has suffered immeasurably since W has been in office.

the world stood beside us on 9/11. and Giuliani was the leader of that day...not the pres.

I'm not saying we should vote on who would be most popular with other countries by any means, just saying his image sure wouldn't hurt ours...

1) how has the worldwide image of the US changed? from what image to what image?
2) if all a candidate is concerned with is our image to the rest of the world, I don't want them as my president.

oh gimme an effin break. he made a couple of speeches to the city. granted he seems like a good leader and would prob make a good president, but he wasn't "the leader of that day". he was the "outspoken victim of the day". all I'm weary about on him, would be his inability to stand up to the democrat congress we have.

from world leader whom everyone trusted to country who invade others on shotty intel.

before all this BS...if we went in somewhere, no one cared because "the US probably has a good reason"...now? not so much. our credibility has suffered.

don't be a fool. to not be concerned with your reputation is to live haphazardly. even Bush has tried several times to go on popularity visits to other nations...wtf was that jungle dancing shit that he just did a couple weeks ago? that wasn't making policy...that was trying to up his image...

so you believe we're no longer a world leader? or just not trusted? which nations no longer trust us that trusted us before? I sure don't see any the commerce, or foreign aid we provide to anyone being cut off. I don't see any of our all too numerous military bases polka dotted across the planet being shut down by their respective host countries. I don't see the landslide movement from other countries towards removing our troops and taking the reigns in Iraq or Afghanistan. I hear what you're saying, and if all I did all day was watch CNN (not saying you do), I'd probably believe it. I just don't see the worldwide action to back it up. At the end of the day, if some attack or crisis happens somewhere, people feel safe and protected when they see the stars and stripes coming to help them.

we don't have a world government. we don't run by other people's rules, they run by ours. if you start letting the little guy make the rules you lose your power.

it's called, trying to beef up the republican image before the presidential race in 2008.

not trusted as much...

I'm not going to argue with you about this shit as you are dead set in your belief.

there is a huge difference in being a global dick and letting the little guy make up your country's rules.

isn't that exactly what a world government would be?

hey I just asked where you see the physical, day to day changes in other countries policies towards us. I don't really see how we're a "global dick" with the insane amount of aid we give to other countries, and the essentially free protection we provide for anyone friendly to us.

I don't have statistical data for you man.

I've just noticed there is much more open antiamerican sentiment overseas than there was just 10 or 15 years ago.

people find out you're american and they want to get all up in your ass about W and the war...whereas before politics wasn't something people normally jumped into when you're having a drink or waiting for a bus or something.

well that's exactly what I mean. they'll talk shit all day long, but they still want our money and protection. it's kinda like the liberal americans. they'll want war, when it suits their interests. if it goes bad they'll blame the conservatives and whip out the anti-war sentiment. if it goes well they'll hail all in power as great leaders.

it sounds like you've had some overseas experience, and I don't. but would I be right in guessing that there's always been plenty of anti-american sentiment? to me if it was some real change, and the countries really were against everything we're doing, they'd show it with some type of political action.

not arguing, asking...

how did giuliani recently put his foot in his mouth?

I hope you do not mean the pro-choice thing? because that's a deliberate thing and a nice change from the standard Rep/Dem schpeels.
