well, on the lighter note, looks like I might not be going to vernal UT afterall because I failed another bullshit "jeopardy trivia" test today ... so now I have to "appeal" my termination! Woohoo!
I'm writing a scathing letter to my manager about what a crock of shit the training program I'm in has been and how I really fail to see how terminating people based on their ability to memorize and regerjitate trivia about things that don't relate whatsoever to what they actually do in the field! Woo! Grad school here I come! It's funny, I should be ashamed of myself right now, but I've seriously hated virtually every second of the "classroom" part of this field training I've been in since I started, so I guess quite frankly I don't give a shit. It just sucks ass because if this appeal doesn't go through and I lose my job I'm going to have ot put on a resume I got canned from my first job outta college after 4 months because I'm horrible at memorizing trivia for tests. I dont know I guess what pisses me off the most is I've had several instructors of mine over the course of my college career comment on how that they thought I had a learning disability and that's why I've historically had such problems with tests of that nature, but I never went and got tested for it because I didn't wanna use it as an excuse. I guess if there would have been a "treatment" so to speak for it to help me out with shit like this it owuld have been worth it but oh well now I'm fucked so fuck it I'll just go back to grad school and study something I might actually give a shit about. haha. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

that's pretty shitty that they have pop-quiz testing about what you know.
i don't know what you will be doing, but i would assume that the majority of the time it's probably not going to involve a situation that requires an immediate "life or death" answer, so i don't see why they cannot ease everybody into the job. |

long story short, I sent a letter to the "big" manager guy, he agreed with me, I met with him this morning and basically was quite frank about what I thought of the training program and how it did very little to teach people about what they needed to know to actually do their job, he told me he would give me one more shot, so I had to retake the test I failed. got a fucking %100 on it, but if I fail another one I'm out the door because "it's policy".
