Anybody know of a cozy locally-owned coffee shop in north Austin? I'm looking for a good place to gather for playing card & board games, crap like that, and want someplace with more atmosphere than Starschmucks.

What do you mean by north Austin? I always go to Clementine's on Manor Rd. (just east of Downtown)
Great atmosphere, great coffee, free wi-fi (fast) -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

Jessica and Pysex are dead-on. I specifically live off Parmer east of I-35. Other people I'd be meeting up with live elsewhere on Parmer.

Also, Clementines serves beer and food and is right across the street from one of the greatest restaurants I have ever been to, Eastside Cafe.

is the food good? or what made it great? Eastside Cafe has some really good food. I like the fact that they get some of their ingredients from the garden in the back yard. -------------------- "Ah, y'know it's funny, these people they go to sleep, they think everything's fine, everything's good. Eastside Cafe has some really good food. I like the fact that they get some of their ingredients from the garden in the back yard. Almost all of the veggies are pulled from the garden in back. Just all around good food. They have their normal items then a great specials menu, which are usually made with very, very fresh ingredients. I had a portabella mushroom and salmon special there last time and it was awesome. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |
