ok so I finally got a hauppauge tv tuner for my media center PC, and installed this orb stuff.

all i have to say is...

Oh

My

God

this has got to be one of the most amazing web/local page/app I've ever seen. once you get it all set up, you can actually stream live tv from your house over the internet to any web browser (including cell phones). now at first you may think bah it must be shitty quality... but when you log into your account on their site, it does a quick speed check and adjusts quality accordingly. even so, let me tell you, from my phone (sprint PPC6700) through the cellular connection, it is full motion live tv, with only slight pixelation if any at all. when my roommate streamed it to his PC, it was full screen with no visible blemish at all. just as if he was sitting in front of the tv. i have the digital cable from cox, and orb works with the IR blaster to actually change the channel on the digital box (also would work for satellite). the app also lets you access any other audio or video that the orb machine has access too, and you can install the software on multiple machines, and the site will group it all together.

anyhow, if any of you have a hardware mpeg2 tv tuner, this orb stuff is awesome. i can't believe the service is free... in fact i'd highly doubt it'll stay that way for long.

and yeah, that EVDO tv is pretty nifty.
