So I bought a new laptop and it came with vista, according to the people at High Tech in the sub the Norton e-raider is not compatible with vista. So do y'all have any recommendations on a software to use/ (i prefer free)

thanks for the help

ps i hate vista, its just a glamorous looking xp, but i'll save that rant for another thread

since i work for mcafee, i say get mcafee virus scanner (not free though)

I didn't know that. Wasn't Mcafee the company that decided that it would omit government programs(viruses) from their anti-virus searches?

windows vista is the equivalent of windows ME

a big bloated useless piece of shitty broken software rushed out the door

I hate McAfee more than anything...even more than Norton. I just use that free TrendMicro virus scan online. It scans for viruses, malware, spyware, adware, and other stuff. Its not preventative, but it sure does do the trick when I think something goofy is on my computer.

I was wondering about that. My parents had McAfee back like 3 or 4 years ago and they had to call McAfee's 900 number at like $2 a minute to get the software removed from their computer.
