I was being facetious... Kind of a poke at the TSA.

They locked down the campus and in those two hours the gunman made his way from one side of campus to the other. The lock down was suspended and the second shooting occurred.

gotcha. and it's not like he's running around with a rifle, so he was invisible.

Why would they suspend the lockdown just 2 hours later if the gunman hadnt been caught yet?

From what an e-mail from a co-worker's son said was that the lockdown was suspended so that they could move people from the area and get them out of the dorms, classrooms, etc. At least that's the way I read it.

thats what i was thinking.... either you need to restrict guns completely, or let everyone have them.

anyone else notice how shootings tend to occur where guns are "not allowed" ?

i may be wrong... but texas seems to have way less gun related incidents than other states. i seriously doubt this coward would have had the balls to pull this shit in a state where it's very likely there are people capable of shooting back.

restricting guns completely is dumb imo. people who think this would help are idiots. criminals will get guns one way or another. i'd be interested to know the % of guns involved in gun crimes that were purchased legally & registered. or look at england, where guns are banned. knife crimes out the ass there.

You would think someone would have tried to stop the shooter... He had duals or a 9mm and a 22 rifle. He had to have needed to reload at some point.

never underestimate the power of fear.

people (even trained "professionals") freeze under fire. it's not apathy, it's fear.
