i think it's ridiculous he got fired, people need to quit getting their panties in a wad over petty shit, we have more important things to worry about like how to stop bush from suspending the constitution, how to protect our 2nd amendment rights, and trying to avoid getting a verichip

You do realize that you're talking about a country that has obsessed over the death of some trailer trash for weeks on end. America doesn't care about that! They would rather put their energy into ending Sanjaya's run on American Idiot.

I think its funny. Did anyone know that white people can have nappy hair and be hos also? ...oh oh and Mexicans.

Don Imus will get picked up somewhere else. People love controversy and if anything his comment helped his career in the long-run. At least thats my prediction.

I hate when people use the "But I have free speech so I can say whatever I want arguement."

Yeah, you CAN (meaning you have the ability) to say whatever you want, but there are still consequences for our words.

I agree with Impala, but like I said before.... i think its funny and somebody will re-hire him and he will rise in popularity

I think it was a stupid thing to say, but probably didn't warrant him getting fired. I'm just ready for this to stop being front-page CNN news. I mean, c'mon, is it that slow of a news week?

But that's what freedom of speech is all about...not having consequences for what you say. Because you could say the same thing about places without freedom of speech, like China. Yeah, you CAN (you have the ability) to say whatever you want, but there are consequences (going to prison, being killed).

I think what Imus said is offensive, but I've heard similar things from folks of different races, nationalities, religions, etc. about another group.

Should people be fired? I dunno...

I will say that I listen to talk radio on my way to and from work. There is a lot of politics that are talked about that you will not see on CNN and they discuss resolutions on the house floor that you'd have to watch C-Span to learn about (YUCK!). Other than that, I don't listen to the radio.

Imus should of apologized to the team. If Sharpton really represents the African American, which he doesn't, he should apologies to the Duke players.

It protects you from government retribution, not from the media or individuals. I guess its because they have freedom of speech also.

From what I've read Imus was going to apologize to the team in person...
