Police said the pair, both 18, was in the vehicle in a carpark at Spearwood about 5.30pm (WDT) yesterday when they saw a man chasing a teenage boy. The man fell in front of their vehicle and then tried to open the car door on the passenger's side, but the teenager in the passenger seat held the door shut, police said. "The man pulled out a screwdriver and thrust it through the open window and stabbed the passenger to the cheek, causing a minor injury," police said. The attacker then went to the other side of the car and stabbed the driver just below the eye, causing a puncture wound to his cheek. "The driver started the car and drove to his Spearwood home with the screwdriver embedded in his face and called an ambulance which conveyed him to the Fremantle Hospital for treatment," police said.
