So, I'm watching this documentary called "Jesus Camp," which is basically about how Evangelical Christians are quite literally brainwashing the youth of the United States... anyways, about twenty-five minutes into the film, the mom of one of the Jesus Camp participants makes her kids say the Pledge of Allegiance before lunch.

At first I was like, "Hm, that's weird... but her husband is serving in Iraq so they're probably all gung-ho for America."

Imagine my absolute surprise when the kids picked up two little mini-flags (the Christian flag and the flag of Israel) and a bible. They then recited this garbage.

Are you fucking kidding me?

Seriously, though my thoughts and feelings about organized religion are well-documented, you could literally replace the film's references to Christianity with Islam and you'd have yourself a documentary about radical Islamic fundamentalists.

If you're even the slightest bit moderate, and want to get the shit scared out of you, go watch this movie.

Netflix. I stopped about half an hour into it to watch the hoops game, but already there's a ton of stuff that has made me go WTF.

Yeah, I thought about going to see this when it was in theatres. I've heard the Christian flag & bible pledges before... was at a Baptist service. They did the US pledge, then the other two. Freaked the ever living hell out of me.

Oh wait, maybe that was the point... lol

I went to Protestant Christian-centered private schools until I was in the seventh grade, and I was *never* exposed to anything like this.

I mean, one of these fanatical mothers home-schools her kids and says stuff like, "Creationism is the only possible answer because it explains everything," with a straight face.

And then they have these six and seven year-olds "speaking in tongues," and their youth pastor bragging on camera that he could walk up to any group of kids on any playground across America and have them speaking in tongues within five minutes.

Seriously, this shit makes me want to buy a gun to protect myself when the inevitable happens and these nut-jobs think that a comet in the sky or something is a sign of the impending rapture.

Okay, this is getting so retarded that I'm going to do a running commentary.

Right now, the head youth pastor is praying over every seat in the auditorium, the electrical system, the powerpoint presentations(!!) and the microphones... oh, wait, now she's speaking in tongues. This is fantastic.

Can't say that I'm shocked that one of the main subjects of this Jesus Camp documentary is sporting a foot-long rat tail.

Awesome, Christian rap... "You take JC wherever you go, yo!" The word "homey" was also used quite liberally.

Yep, just started attacking Harry Potter. "Warlocks are enemies of God!" I wonder what she thinks of Quidditch?

Haha, "Had it been in the Old Testament, Harry Potter would have been put to death!" The emphasis was hers, not mine.

"How many of you would like to be those that give up their lives for Jesus?"

...and all the kids raise their hand.

Seriously, this could be straight out of Palestine.

Now they're breaking cups... WTF... something about corrupt government or something.

"God touched you tonight," said Australian Guy #1. "I want to hear about it, come tell me what happened."

Seriously, this is freaky. They've got kids in camoflauge pants, brown shirts and camo face paint dancing in formation with sticks, while the youth pastor lady screams, "This means War!"

Naturally, the next scene is a bunch of kids swinging on a swing set.
